SU/MIT Telnet Gateway
Purpose: Facilitates remote access to MIT (Massachusetts Institute of Technology) computing resources via the Telnet protocol. Enables users to log in to MIT systems and access computing resources from external locations.
Vulnerabilities: Man-in-the-Middle (MitM) Attacks: Intercepting Telnet sessions to eavesdrop on sensitive information, including login credentials. Brute-Force Attacks: Attempting to guess user passwords by repeatedly trying different combinations during Telnet sessions. Session Hijacking: Unauthorized users gaining control of active Telnet sessions to execute commands or access data. Weak Encryption: Exposing Telnet traffic to eavesdropping and interception due to the lack of encryption. Denial of Service (DoS): Overloading the Telnet gateway with excessive connection requests, causing service disruption.
Tools: Wireshark, Nmap, Hydra
