Purpose:
- Facilitate communication between Oracle database clients and servers
- Enable secure transmission of SQL queries and responses
Vulnerabilities:
- Weak encryption algorithms may expose sensitive data during transmission
- Vulnerable to brute-force attacks targeting login credentials
- Susceptible to replay attacks where intercepted authentication packets are replayed to gain unauthorized access
- Inadequate key management practices may compromise the security of encryption keys used for securing communication
- Flaws in credential validation mechanisms can lead to unauthorized access to the Oracle database
