Network Printing Protocol (NPP)
Purpose: Facilitates the printing of documents over a network, allowing users to send print jobs to remote printers. Enables centralized print management and administration across distributed environments.
Vulnerabilities: Man-in-the-Middle (MitM) Attacks: Intercepting print jobs to view or modify sensitive document contents. Print Job Spoofing: Falsifying print job information to redirect or disrupt printing operations. Print Queue Manipulation: Unauthorized access to print queues to view, modify, or delete print jobs. Printer Firmware Exploitation: Leveraging vulnerabilities in printer firmware to gain unauthorized access or execute arbitrary code. Denial of Service (DoS): Overloading print servers or printers with excessive print job requests, causing disruption.
